In The 70's and many years and decades earlier doctor's would make house visits and prescribe and ir even bring The needed medicine with them.
When I was a child in The early 90's , House visits were not that common anymore, But at some or many hospitals you could go to The ER even if you just had a cold and they would give you a prescription and you felt better within a week !
Nowadays you cannot go to The ER unless they consider you qualify for intensive care .
A trip with an ambulance, Visiting your doctor and getting your prescription, All of this costs now money !
Even if doctors are on call , They are only available to greet you and talk to you , But otherwise The nurses are trained to rake care of you.
Even if you are vomiting or have pain , You can get an ambulance to The ER , But if it is not something that they consider needs immediate attention in intensive care , Then believe it or not , But they will send you back home and simply suggest to make an appointment with your doctor and if you are not feeling well on THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT, Then The doctor is not going to visit you at home ! No ! You will excused and offered to reschedule!
This sounds absurd , But that is today's reality .
They say that these changes are happening because they want The patients to feel taken care of and that includes calling patients CONSUMERS instead of patients .
But The actual result if this new system is that medicine has gone to wallstreet!
It is not about The patients anymore !
It is about economic efficiency of hospitals ( Sadly ) .
Although I am still young, I miss The time when you could get quality healthcare because you had doctor's who really cared !
Nowadays doctor's mostly only care about their paycheck.
I am devastated and furious !
